Privacy Policy
Last updated: June 6, 2026
This Privacy Policy explains how Grand Rapids Alliance of Cooperative Communities ("GRACC") collects, uses, and protects information through CHAMP, the Cooperative Housing Admin & Member Portal.
Information we collect
CHAMP may store account and contact information, membership and applicant records, house assignments, contribution records, financial transaction information, survey responses, uploaded documents, administrative notes, access roles, and audit history. The information collected depends on your relationship with GRACC and the features you use.
How we use information
GRACC uses information in CHAMP to administer cooperative membership and applications, manage houses and contributions, maintain member account records, provide financial information, collect survey responses, support authorized staff activities, secure the portal, and comply with organizational or legal obligations.
QuickBooks Online data
When an authorized administrator connects QuickBooks Online, CHAMP may receive company details, customer records, transaction data, identifiers, and authorization tokens needed to operate the integration. QuickBooks data is used to connect accounting customers with CHAMP member records and to import authorized transaction information. CHAMP does not sell QuickBooks data or use it for advertising.
Plaid data
When an authorized administrator connects Plaid, CHAMP may receive linked account details, balances, account identifiers, and authorization tokens needed to operate the integration. Plaid data is used to show authorized bank account balances and related account metadata inside CHAMP. CHAMP does not sell Plaid data or use it for advertising.
Slack data
When an authorized administrator connects Slack, CHAMP may store workspace identifiers, channel routing settings, authorization tokens, and message delivery records needed to send selected CHAMP notifications to Slack. Slack messages may contain the CHAMP activity details staff choose to route to connected channels.
How information is shared
Information is available only to users whose GRACC roles permit access. GRACC may share information with service providers that support CHAMP, with connected services authorized by GRACC, or when required by law. GRACC does not sell personal information.
Data retention
GRACC retains information for as long as reasonably needed to operate the cooperative, preserve organizational records, resolve disputes, maintain audit history, and meet legal or accounting requirements. Account access may be deactivated when a person is no longer authorized, while historical records may be retained.
Security
GRACC uses administrative, technical, and access-control measures intended to protect information. No system can guarantee absolute security, and users are responsible for protecting their credentials and reporting suspected unauthorized access.
Your choices and requests
You may contact GRACC to ask about your information, request correction of inaccurate information, or ask questions about retention or access. Some records may need to be retained for legal, financial, operational, or historical reasons.
Third-party services
CHAMP may link to or integrate with third-party services, including QuickBooks Online, Plaid, and Slack. Those services have their own privacy policies and practices. GRACC is not responsible for the independent privacy practices of third parties.
Policy changes
GRACC may update this policy as CHAMP, legal requirements, or organizational practices change. The current version will be posted on this page with its last-updated date.
